Business Lesson #26 -- Accountability matters!
Too often direction is given, tasks are defined, goals are set, etc. and then there is no measurement system in place to ensure that progress is being made. Without it, there aren’t the early warning signals needed to be able to quickly course correct when things are going off track. Defining a culture where people understand that they are accountable for their work and take pride in the final product together with measurement systems that track progress is a great way to ensure operational excellence.
